Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

Plain-English Summary: Use this site for its intended purpose. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable except in specific circumstances. We are a nonprofit — please treat us accordingly.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website at teachahumantoffish.org (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

These Terms apply to all visitors, donors, volunteers, sponsors, and anyone else who accesses or uses the Site.

2. About Our Organization

Teach a Human to Fish ("TAHF") is a Utah nonprofit corporation recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our programs include youth fishing clinics and adult men’s outdoor experiences in Utah.

TAHF is not a government agency, school, or licensed childcare facility. Our programs are voluntary, recreational, and educational in nature.

3. Use of This Site

You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You may not:

4. Donations

Voluntary nature: All donations to Teach a Human to Fish are voluntary. No donation is required to participate in our programs (subject to program availability).

Tax deductibility: TAHF is recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We provide donation receipts via email. Donors are responsible for determining their own tax obligations — this is not tax advice.

Refund policy: Donations are generally non-refundable, as they are immediately applied to program costs. If you made a donation in error or experienced a duplicate charge, contact us within 30 days at info@teachahumantoffish.org and we will work with our payment processor to resolve the issue.

Use of funds: TAHF will use donated funds for the charitable purposes described on this Site and in our governing documents. We will not materially alter the use of restricted gifts without donor notification. TAHF reserves the right to redirect unrestricted gifts to highest-priority needs.

Payment processing: Donation transactions are processed by a third-party payment processor. By making a donation, you also agree to that processor’s terms of service.

5. Program Participation

Participation in TAHF programs (youth clinics and Men’s Experience outings) is subject to separate participation agreements, liability waivers, and program-specific rules provided at time of registration. These Terms of Service apply to use of this website only and do not supersede or replace those participation agreements.

Youth participants: A parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver on behalf of any participant under 18 before that participant may take part in any TAHF program. Youth may not register themselves.

TAHF reserves the right to refuse participation to any individual at any time, for any reason consistent with applicable non-discrimination law.

6. Volunteer Terms

By submitting a volunteer interest form, you are expressing interest only — not entering into a binding commitment. TAHF will follow up with selected volunteers regarding specific roles, dates, training requirements, and background check procedures (required for roles involving direct contact with youth).

Volunteers serve at-will and may be removed from a role at TAHF’s discretion. Volunteers are not employees of TAHF and are not entitled to compensation.
